About

Jim Carey Connell is an actor and voice artist with a deep rolling resonant voice which can be warm and reassuring, strident and authoritative, big and funny….. or dark and scary according to requirement.

He has presented several documentaries and essays for BBC Radio 4, presented many live shows (including the Classic Rock Awards), and voiced many adverts including ones for Rudera Wines, Marathon Bet and BMW (UAE).

His voice is also given to the dynamics of storytelling, narration and character acting. He can perform RP, Estuary, Cockney, aristocratic English, comedic English and West Country accents.

Jim works out of a well endowed recording studio in Battersea, south London using Neumann microphones, Universal Audio Preamps and Pro Tools HD recording facilities. He has also travelled all over the country to meet and record with clients. His super quick turnarounds for voice jobs are made all the more possible by the high quality mobile recording rig he takes with him everywhere he goes

As well as a big voice, Jim is also a sound mixer/designer and was nominated for an MPSE Golden Reel for Motion Picture Sound Editing 2011 for his work as the Head of Sound on the Oscar-nominated 'Exit Through The Gift Shop' feature doc. He has recorded and produced many great voices including Kevin Spacey, Dominic West and Rhys Iffans.
